15 May 2026

ST Logistics was honoured to host NTUC Secretary-General Ng Chee Meng, who visited the company to learn more about its workforce transformation efforts and the role of artificial intelligence and automation in shaping the future of logistics.

During the visit, Mr Ng met with management, union representatives and employees to understand how technology is being deployed to enhance operations while creating meaningful opportunities for workers. The visit highlighted the company’s commitment to ensuring that employees remain at the centre of transformation efforts as the industry evolves.

A key focus of the discussion was the company’s collaboration with the Supply Chain Employees Union (SCEU) through the NTUC Company Training Committee (CTC) initiative. Through close partnership between management and the union, ST Logistics has implemented projects that improve operational efficiency while delivering positive outcomes for employees through job redesign, skills development and career progression.

One of the major initiatives showcased was the Smart Storage & Retrieval System, currently under development. The AI-enabled solution is expected to increase storage capacity by up to 20 per cent and raise handling capacity from 10 pallets manually to at least 70 pallets per hour. By leveraging shuttle technology and real-time inventory tracking, the system will improve warehouse throughput, accelerate order fulfilment and reduce repetitive manual work.

The project is expected to benefit more than 90 employees through enhanced workplace safety, structured career development opportunities and higher-value job roles.
