ST Logistics signs MoUs with NTUC LearningHub and NUS

31 Jan 2019

On 31 January, in conjunction with the STL – SCEU Learning Festival 2019, ST Logistics signed two separate MoUs to drive skills-upgrading and promote lifelong learning of Singapore’s logistics workforce. They are with:

  • NTUC LearningHub
  • National University of Singapore

The MoUs demonstrate how unions can work with private companies and academic institutions to upskill Singapore’s talent to meet the demands of Industry 4.0.

What is Industry 4.0?

Industry 4.0, or “the fourth industrial revolution”, is an umbrella term that refers to the rapid digitalisation and automation of conventional industries. Several emerging or new technologies and concepts contribute to the reshaping of how work is done, which includes but is not limited to the sharing economy, driverless vehicles, machine learning, artificial intelligence, predictive technology, 3D-printing, and more. For Singapore’s workforce to leverage these new opportunities, it becomes crucial to advance, upskill, and retrain PMEs in order to meet new demands in their respective industries.
